Threshold Choirs were founded in California to sing at the bedside for those who are ill or dying, replicating the experience of a mother singing to her child. It is deeply comforting, relaxing and reassuring for all who participate.
In this video, which is the final segment of a half-hour TV program entitled “Singing at the Threshold,” the Ojai Threshold Choir demonstrates bedside singing for interviewer Rev. Marilyn Miller. For more information on the work of the Threshold Choir, see: www.thresholdchoir.org.
Although Threshold Singing is yet to take off in any big way in this country, you may still experience it by asking me to sing with you or to include listening to recordings of Threshold Singing as part of our companionship time together.
